Phillips light bulb

New LED light bulb unveiled at the Lightfair trade show, it is a 12-watt LED light bulb, meant to replace the standard 60-watt incandescent. I think it is called the Endura.

Home Depot just started selling the first reasonably priced LED light bulb , at $20. Currently back-ordered, and with an estimated savings of $155 over it's lifetime, is quite a bargain. It doesn't look as cool, though.

I have noticed that none of the new bulbs last nearly as long as they claim they will.

I could see using this in applications where the bulb is visible.

One of the coolest things we've recently had presented by a Juno light rep were Trac 12® LED lighting and their line of LED mini-flood and mini-cylinder spotlights.

The track lighting is so nice and unobtrusive. They also have a warm light tone 3000K version or a cooler light tone 4100K version.

The rep also told us the bulb lives are 50,000 hours. Since I'm only planning on living another 40,000 hours, I won't have to get any client complaint calls when the bulbs do finally burn out.

She also mentioned that they are doing some retro LED kits for canned downlights.

The bottom line for us is that the budgets are never there for us to do some really great lighting.

It is always like what fixture can we get that just goes away, and then what is the best lamp that has a good life and then is cheap.

I think we're about 5 years out from doing all LED specs. We'll probably be able to spec them for in case lighting but as far as general and accent it will take us awhile to get them into our budget lighting line items. Bummer

I think this post refers to your bulb. I wonder if it really needs that dead-spot on the top.
