AJ recommends Cracker "Countrysides". I am not sure if he likes the lyrics or the music or both but my friend the music expert says that this is what we should be listening and based on his track record I am going to get it today. I just wish the band would have picked a better name.

This is a really good release if you like alt country mixed in with some classic old school country. All the tunes are covers by various artists except the final cut "It Ain't Gonna' Suck Itself."
That tune is a classic, if for nothing else than the Residents and their over sized eye ball costumes get name checked.
I've been listening to this non-stop in my car and at work. It makes me want to drink some Falstaff beer and some Wild Turkey liquor.
Another great cut is track 3 "Duty Free" which is a cover of an Ike Reilly tune.
There is also a Springsteen cover from his "Ghost of Tom Joad"release.
Also, just to plug Cracker some more, their latest release "Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey" is really good. Check out the "hit" on that one "Turn on, Tune in, Drop out (with me)".
As for the bands name, I guess it is better than Saltines but I understand the reservations people have.
