I'd like to get Porkchop a doghouse for the time he spends outside at Evo but I think $1000 is a bit much. If anyone out there sees a nice looking one for under $500 please let me know. Porky weighs 12 lbs and current spends most of the day under the company picnic table when it is sunny or in the grass when it is chilly.

Get a dog house from freecyle! It's free and you recycle.
Probably won't look as nice and nifty as the one in the photo though. :P
Kari, That is a cool idea. I will check it out for sure. He is so small that I am thinking that I might build a house for him with the boys. Did Ed ever have a dog house? Did he use it?
Ed had a kennel/crate - plastic one that was given to me when I got him. He used it at first, mostly it was to let him know that he was off duty. But it was so huge and took up so much space (not to mention ugly) that I eventually got rid of it. Ed currently doesn't have a dog house. When we go out, we leave him outside and both the back and front verandahs are covered. There are couches on each one that he loves to lie on - the couches used to be people couches but he's claimed them as his.
It sounds like Ed has more couches than we do. He always seemed to me to be the kind of dog that enjoyed laying around so he must be loving that set-up you described. Porkchop on the other hand is not usually happy unless he is getting into something or trying to bite someone so for him confinement is necessary unless you want to do nothing but correct him.
