Karl, I would like to get rid of the Altima. I bought it for the mileage but I think that I am learning that it is a stupid reason to buy a car. I would like to get a classic Mopar at some point but I have to resolve my wet garage issue first.
Haven't you only had the Hybrid for about a year? Was your last VW experience so bad that you would not look into the NEW Jetta diesel? You get Hybrid mileage but with torque.
Given the number of problems that we have had with the Golf and the Beetle I think that there is a almost no chance that we will enjoy another VW product in this lifetime. It is too bad too because, as you know, they are so fun to drive!
Yeah, the new 09' TDI is most impressive. It offers 40+hp and a bunch more tq than the last TDI. Its performance meets or exceeds the 2.5L gas engine in my 08'. Also there is a tax credit of $1300which negates most of the $2100 increase over the gas Jetta. But as a leasee(I got a steal, 50% off) I would not own a modern VW without a nice long warranty.
