Cheese! I love cheese. Except for stinky cheeses. Cheese is the one thing thus far keeping me from making the transition from vegetarian to vegan. I just cannot give up my two favorites - paneer & haloumi. So yum.
I think that all Szymanskis love cheese. I think that Pop would appreciate that of all of the pictures on my blog it was the cheese photo that you responded too. I love it. I have never tried either of your two favorites but I will check it out. We all miss you.
Actually - I responded to another picture before this one, a butter dish one.
Paneer is my favorite as it is found in Indian food, which is my absolute favorite kind of food. (Closely followed by Asian foods) Nothing better than really nice paneer in a curry. If I could afford it, I'd be eating out at Bombay Dhaba (best Indian restaurant at West End in the city) at least once a week. I've been learning to cook various Indian dishes and recently made this Chana Masala (spicy chickpeas)that came out so awesome.
If you do find haloumi, slice it into long blocks, fry lightly on each side until lightly browned, remove from heat and cut it into squares. Squeeze half a lemon on it and sprinkle with oregano. Eat!! It sounds weird but it is really awesome.
KKS, When I travel to China I usually go with a client that is from India and has an apartment in Hong Kong with a live in cook/housekeeper. Her name is Leila and she is also Indian. And if we go out to eat it is usually Indian food (There are hundreds of Indian restaurants in China). So for the week that I am there I have nothing but Indian food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have finally, after about 10 trips, gotten to the point where I can eat any of the food but I can not say that I actually like anything besides a good piece of plain, fresh Tandoori chicken. We must have very different taste buds huh?

Thanks for the recommendation! I just ordered a mini wheel of Zamorano (an amazing cheese, if you like the dry stuff).
