I am thinking about getting a new car. The beetle is starting to fall apart and I would like to get something that gives the boys a little more leg room. I also want to get something that gets reasonably good mileage. Right now it is between the infiniti M and the Audi S4 but I think that I am going to test drive a couple of Fords too.

I would also look into the new G35X. The S4 is nice, but I am turned off by how heavy it is and the price. Also BMW now has a awd twin turbo 3 series, the 335i.
Jameson, while I like the look of the BMWs I think they have way too little room inside. I actually think that the Jetta is roomier. Of course, the S4 may suffer the same fate. I guess I should test drive it. What I really want is a somewhat roomy great looking sedan that gets good mileage.
The S4 is pretty tight inside, it will be marginally larger than the Jetta. Mileage will not be a strong point, the weight is getting close to 4klbs, to me two tons is verging on being a tank.
The 3 series will likely be nearly identical in interior packing volume to the S4. Some other cars to consider. The Subaru Legacy GT. It has good power, decent room, AWD, and good gas mileage. IN fact for 07 there is knob you can dial to adjust performance for economy or for all out sport....nifty. Also there is the Volvo S60R. Once again, AWD, good power and room and a reasonably sized powerful engine. With all these cars its going to come down to the test drive. But I can tell you the s4 with its weight and V8 it will be the thirstiest.
