Although the ID is looking a little dated and the functionality seems to have dictated some odd proportions, the interface on this seems really intuitive and refined. Check it out on the professional section of the Bose website.

good grips

You have to admire the commitment to line expansion. I like the functionality and it does appear to take a pretty tedious and messy task and make it a lot easier but they seem to have lost their aesthetic direction. It also looks a lot like the TV advertised Pediegg

This is made of dark and light bamboo and uses BioShield Organic Herbal Oil to get the satin finish. It is a great example of a material efficient design that is still visually interesting and interestingly detailed.

Simple human

It is about time that the dish rack got some design attention. Many of the features, including the bamboo block and the steel frame are interesting but the overall exterior could be further simplified. It looks like the unit would be as difficult to clean as others on the market. The materials changes are working well.

innovative form

It is nice to see someone trying something besides that typical Breville-style ipod interpretation of simple form with radii. I am not sure that this homage to Oakley-organic exoskeletal approach is really working for this product.

I picked up this set of kids cutlery today at the granite hall general store. For a place that still sells penny candy they have a surprising quantity of interesting new "green" products. After doing a little experimentation and having the boys use them, my conclusion is that they do not work very well. The fork can not puncture anything and the spoon is too shallow. They do look great and the hang tag is sweet.

I am sure that it is well known that the team at Apple knows their design history but I think that this is a good example of how it can be refined and made contemporary. Also, Dieter Rams' 10 principles for good design are always worth a quick review.
